I'm Delores Naskrent, illustrator, educator, and surface pattern designer, and I love helping artists turn curiosity into creative momentum.
Hey there! I'm a Canadian artist, illustrator, and surface pattern designer based in the heart of the prairies, Manitoba.
With over 40 years of experience, I create vibrant, eclectic artwork using both traditional and digital mediums. My designs, ranging from florals and botanicals to geometrics, are featured on fabric, wallpaper, home décor, and stationery, bringing art into everyday life.
If you're looking for a surface pattern designer in Canada or simply love bold, expressive design, you're in the right place.
Teaching online art classes for every creative
In addition to my design work, I'm passionate about teaching online art classes.
After 30 years teaching graphic design and fine art, I now help creatives worldwide through my courses on Skillshare and my platform, learn.deloresart.ca. I've taught over 90,000 students, guiding beginners and experienced artists alike through illustration, design, and surface pattern techniques.
Whether you want to learn, grow, or just reconnect with your creativity, you're welcome here.
My approach to creativity
Whether I'm creating licensed artwork or abstract paintings, I love blending traditional and digital techniques to keep things fresh, expressive, and full of life.
I believe creativity thrives on curiosity, experimentation, and a willingness to embrace imperfection. Some of the best art starts with an "oops," after all.
In my teaching, I focus on helping you build confidence, develop your own style, and actually enjoy the creative process.
I believe creativity can be both deeply meaningful and wonderfully practical, a way to express who we are, build something beautiful, and create opportunities we may never have imagined when we first began.
Life in Manitoba & creative inspiration
I live in a cozy small community in Manitoba with my family nearby: husband, kids, grandkids, cats and dogs, and my mom next door.
Life here is simple, joyful, and full of laughter, plenty of games (and yes, a lot of coffee). That sense of warmth and connection naturally finds its way into both my artwork and my teaching.

What guides my work
Clarity
I want every class, page, and resource to feel easy to understand and inviting to use.
Encouragement
Creative growth takes patience. I try to build spaces and lessons that feel supportive, kind, and realistic.
Beauty
I care deeply about making things that feel thoughtful, artistic, and full of heart, both for myself and for others.
